The Mission Training Center in New York City exists to prepare workers to share the Good News of Christ cross-culturally and to reach the unreached. The Mission Training Center is an arm of DestiNations International (DNI), a conservative Anabaptist mission agency dedicated to church-planting among unreached people groups. DNI operates under the direction of the Biblical Mennonite Alliance (BMA).
The Mission Training Center was founded to prepare workers for ministry among unreached peoples and to provide an opportunity for people with interest in missions to explore their interest in an urban, cross-cultural setting.
Our goal is to provide students with both academic and practical training in missions that will better equip them to labor effectively in the harvest field.
The Mission Training Center is uniquely positioned in one of the most culturally diverse neighborhoods in the world. Our location enables us to pre- pare workers to take the Good News of Jesus Christ to people of the many different cultures around the world.
New York City is one of the world’s most influential cities. Situated on the Atlantic coast of the United States, it serves as a global center for economic activity, political power, knowledge, and influence. While not topping the “World’s Largest Cities” list, New York City is the third largest metro area in the western hemisphere with over twenty million people.
The flow of immigrants into “the land of the free” exploded in the mid-1800s and in 1892, the United States Immigration Station opened on Ellis Island. Until it was closed in 1954, the station processed nearly 17 million people from almost every conceivable ethnicity. To this day, New York City continues to be the top destination for immigrants to the United States.
